Othello Essay

The protagonist with the play, Othello is a person trapped by his own weaknesses rather than a victim of circumstance. Even though the situations that Othello finds himself in are not suitable and contribute to his downfall, it is his own perilous flaws that end up destroying him.

In act three or more scene a few Iago starts to plant a seed of doubt in Othello's brain about his wife Desdemona and her infidelity. Iago proceeds to inquire Othello, " Did Michael Cassio, at the time you wooed my lady, know you love? ” This query immediately triggers Othello for being suspicious. Iago then uses with a series of rhetorical questions that enrage Othello as well increase the doubt that is certainly building up in his mind. By the end of this picture we see among Othello's weaknesses present on its own, jealousy. This type of flaw becomes one of the major efforts to Othello's downfall. Right at the end of the play jealousy features clouded his judgment and taken over his perspective everywhere. At first Othello insists that he demands proof of the alleged affair but quickly changes his mind. " Must be to loathe her. O problem of marital life. ”

Action 4 field 1, Iago informs Othello that Desdemona and Cassio have slept together and he features seen that she has offered Cassio the handkerchief Othello gave her when they initially fell in love. This all news that Iago will keep telling him sends Othello off into a rant, " Is't possible? - Concede? Handkerchief? Um devil! ” After this his falls in a trance. This can be a moment once all Othello's insecurities, anxieties and aversions as well as the apparent lack of common sense that a leader is assumed to have combine to create this kind of epileptic in shape. In this picture stage guidelines are used to help the reader determine what is going upon for a dramatic effect. A pair of Othello's faults that cause this downfall are interest and gullibility. These feelings enabled Iago fill his head with lies that caused him to acquire so worked up that this individual lost control.
